NemuriOn Privacy Policy
Effective November 2, 2026
NemuriOn (ねむり音日記) is a bedtime check-in diary: you talk through your day before sleep, and the app turns it into a short night entry and a wind-down narration. Your diary, conversations and photos stay on your iPhone and never reach a server of ours. The only thing that leaves the device is text you send to the bedtime assistant after you allow it.
No account, no server of ours
There is no sign-in or registration, and we run no server for the app. Nothing is synced to iCloud or another cloud. NemuriOn shows no ads, uses no analytics or tracking, and does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.
What stays on your bedside (on-device storage)
The following is kept only in the app’s own storage (a NemuriOn folder inside its Documents area):
- Night entries: date, the check-in conversation, the AI summary, a mood tag, “one thing for tomorrow”, your voice transcript, text and labels read from your photo, and the note written about it.
- Check-in turns: each message between you and the assistant.
- Tonight’s photo: the picture you took or chose (JPEG).
- Soundscape and narration: the soundscape mix, the wind-down narration text and when playback started.
- Settings: bedtime reminder on/off and time, your AI consent choice, and the last screen you had open.
Camera, photos, microphone and speech

Text and contents in your photo (up to 12 lines of text and up to 5 labels) are read on the device with Apple’s Vision framework. You can decline any access; typing still works.
The bedtime assistant (AI) and DeepSeek
Replies and diary drafts are produced by the DeepSeek API (api.deepseek.com), operated by Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd. The first time you check in, an “AIの利用について” (About AI use) screen appears, and nothing is sent until you choose “許可して続ける” (Allow and continue).
Sent after you allow it
- What you typed in tonight’s check-in, or your voice transcript
- If you add a photo, the text and labels read from it on the device
- Summaries of up to your last three nights
- The app’s own headings and instructions
Never sent
- The photo itself or your recorded audio
- Reminder and other settings
- Your name, email, location or advertising identifier
DeepSeek processes the request on its own servers to return a reply. According to the DeepSeek Privacy Policy, DeepSeek processes and stores personal data in the People’s Republic of China. AI replies are generated automatically and may be inaccurate. A diary draft is saved only when you tap “Accept”.
You can withdraw consent at any time with the switch in Settings › AI & Privacy or with “AIの利用を取り消す” (Withdraw AI use). After that, check-ins, voice and photos are not sent, and the app asks again before you use them.
Notifications
If you turn on Settings › Bedtime reminder, the app schedules a local notification (“今夜のチェックインの時間です。” — time for tonight’s check-in) at the time you set, 22:30 by default. It contains none of your diary and uses no outside push service. Turning it off removes the schedule.
Purchases
NemuriOn has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Downloading it from the App Store is governed by Apple’s terms.
Keeping and deleting
On-device data stays until you delete it or remove the app.
- Settings › “ローカルデータを削除” (Delete local data) removes your saved night entries.
- “写真をクリア” (Clear photo) on a night’s detail page deletes that night’s photo.
- To erase everything, including conversation turns, photos, soundscapes and settings, delete the app from your iPhone.
Photos you saved to your album are managed in the Photos app. We never hold what you sent to DeepSeek, so we cannot delete it; DeepSeek’s policy governs its handling.
Changes
If the app’s features or data handling change, we will update this page and its effective date.
